Marcel Proust
As most people say that writers as in orderwriters.com are always born writer, Marcel Proust was not born as a writer but he developed to be a renowned writer. Born in July 1871 to a French family nobody thought that Proust would rise to the status of the best author of all times. Proust was born during the heights of the French war and the violence that existed in their land might have been a major influence in his writing career. Although the state of the country during that time might have been the major influence in his career his mother played a major role in determining the path taken by his career as an early writer. His father worked in the medical field as a pathologist and an epidemiologist and he too was involved in writing although most of his work revolved around the medical field.
Unfortunately, at a tender age of eleven years, Proust was diagnosed of asthma and this marked the start of a new life as a sickly child and a child who needed a lot of support. On the other hand, this unfortunate event led him to be become an isolated child, which marked the rise of his career. Although most writers are lonely people, Proust loneliness was an extreme case since he spent most of his time in solitude from his childhood. Back at the village, Proust spent most of his time exploring the interior of his uncle's old house and in these explorations; he learned the beauty and the purpose of art. In his early life, Proust developed the character of a critic and an analyst and these two features characterize much of his works. Proust might have developed his analytical and critical skills from his early childhood since his first works are mostly based on his childhood experiences.
In 1882, Proust joined a school in his neighborhood although his education was disrupted by his poor health. Unlike other pupils, Proust had great interests in literature and literature materials in the expense of other subjects such as science although his father tried to convince him otherwise. From his early school life, it is evident that Proust knew where his life was heading and therefore he was determined to follow his dreams to the end. Proust knew that his life and career would revolve around literature and therefore he did not waste his time with other things taught in school. Proust was also aware that there was need to concentrate in one field for maximum benefits and therefore he spent most of his time practicing his literal prowess and he excelled. During his schooldays, Proust received many awards in literature although he was less concerned with other subjects. Proust was also a stubborn child, which is demonstrated by the many attempts to consider other fields that he turned down.
Proust had an extraordinary determination and this is definitely the root of all his success. In 1889, Proust decided to join the army although this was unexpected of him following his poor health. Although his family and friends were determined to persuade him to change his mind he was not fully convinced and he went on to become a military man for a few years. Proust had good analytical skills and therefore he used every opportunity for his literature work. His military career was not an exception since it formed a basis from which he wrote most of his work. Proust was able to take every chance as an opportunity and he dedicated much of his effort on literature.
Although Proust spent much of his life in solitude, he valued friendship and he had good relations with all his friends. Proust however did not have many friends and therefore he treasured the few friends that he had. His mother was his best friend and therefore he spent most of his time in the company of his mother. Proust valued his mother so much that he dedicated much of his writings to her for the few years he wrote during her lifetime. Proust did not have any relations with women and therefore he spent most of his time in his mother's house. In 1905, the unfortunate death of his mother left him a more lonely man than he was before. After his mother's death Proust spent most of his time in the family house working on his literature.
Proust not only had love for his mother and literature work but he also loved sleep and dreams. This love for sleep made him spend most of his time in bed thinking of how he would do his next writing. Proust can also be described as a nocturnal person since he liked Working during the night and sleeping during the day. Proust rarely left his mothers house he spent his days in bed and the nights on the table writing his work.
